Wilhelm Hallen, Kopenhagener Str. 60-68, 13407 BerlinSeven participants of Gallery Weekend Berlin – namely alexander levy, BQ, ChertLüdde, Klemm’s, Kraupa-Tuskany Zeidler, Plan B and PSM – will open the joint exhibition “K60” in the Wilhelm Hallen at Kopenhagener Strasse 60 in Reinickendorf. This listed building of a former iron foundry offers 3000 square meters of space, dedicated to works of art and installations that far exceeds the traditional gallery space. The exhibition invites 23 artists represented by the participating galleries and will offer a presentation spanning videos, sculptures, paintings and mixed media installations.
The halls, which are nearing completion, will be accessible to the public for the first time on the day of the opening and will also be open during Gallery Weekend Berlin. This new initiative reinforces the spirit of collaborative practices between galleries and the artistic community of the city of Berlin, which remains strong and vibrant.

Die Frage nach dem Individuum in einer durch technologischen Fortschritt zunehmend beschleunigten Zeit ist ein zentrales Thema in Guan Xiaos künstlerischer Arbeit. Die komplexe und lebhafte Ästhetik ihrer multimedialen Arbeiten, hinterfragt die Logik von Zeit. Lokal verankert und global vernetzt fügt Guan Xiao diverse geografische und historische Referenzen zu poetischen Skulpturen und Videos.
The question of the individual is a central subject matter in Guan Xiao’s art, particularly the challenges of how one should, not only navigate, but harness the logic of time and speed and influx of technology while changing understandings of materiality and the burden of history. The complex and vivid aesthetic of her works in various media, including sculpture and video, could be considered as deliberations on these conditions, where instant knowledge about the world can provide a myriad of inspirations and influences.

Born 1984, lives and works in Berlin and Amsterdam.Katja Novitskovas Arbeit befasst sich mit der Komplexität der Abbildung der Welt durch (bio-) technologische Narrative. Die Skulpturenserie Approximations (2012-jetzt) isoliert visuelle Signale aus der Natur, in diesem Fall eine Hyäne, und präsentiert sie als Cut-Out Display in einer Darstellungsform die der techno-ökonomische Expansion der menschlichen Kultur entspricht. Die so synthetisierte Natur gewinnt eine große symbolische und emotionale Anziehungskraft.
Novitskova’s work tackles the complexity and eventual failures of depicting the world through technologically driven narratives. The sculpture series Approximations (2012-ongoing), is an attempt to visualize new consumer products for the techno-economic expansion that inevitably follow the current global financial and environmental crisis. By bringing together art and science to the level of nature, Novitskova brings awareness to the mediation and representation tools used to depict these realms.

Pieter Schoolwerths figurative Malerei spiegelt den destabilisierten Prozess der Identitätskonstruktion in einem Zeitalter das von zunehmend abstrakt werdenden sozialen Bindungen geprägt ist. Die europäische Malerei des 16. und 18. Jahrhunderts bildet dabei die Grundlage seines künstlerischen Schaffens und insbesondere seines Frühwerks, das altmeisterliche Malweise und Bildkomposition mit digitalen Techniken vereint. Schoolwerth verweist damit auf die heutige Omnipräsenz des virtuellen Bildraums mittels der Kombination von analogen und digitalen Prozessen.
Pieter Schoolwerth explores and experiments with the effects of generalized abstraction on representations of the human form in painting. Grounded in European paintings from the 16th to the 19th centuries, his works are complex compositions combining drawn, printed, and painted pictorial elements. Through his unique process, Schoolwerth traces and overlaps the contours of figures from premodern narrative tableaux to create permutations of a single hybridized time. His method reflects the destabilized process of identity construction in an age characterized by increasingly abstract social relations

Anna Uddenberg’s künstlerische Praxis bietet Raum für Reflexionen auf Kategorien wie Geschmack, Klasse, Aneignung, und Sexualität und überführt Gender-Theorien in neue Materie.
Through the feedback loop of consumerist culture, Anna Uddenberg investigates how body culture, spirituality, and self-staging are intertwined with the mediation and production of subjectivity by new technologies and circulation forms. Her practice integrates approaches to gender theory while acting as a space for reflecting on taste and class, appropriation and sexuality, pushing these questions into new material territories.
