“'Pale Ignition', 2025, originates from a still frame taken from a video in which a borescope moves through the interior of an engine. The movement is jerky and claustrophobic, with tight tolerances and unstable, dim lighting. These interiors read as multi-scalar propositions, with radial forms sliding in and out of focus. The view feels both telescopic and invasive. Edges dissolve while forms round and radiate. Even as the geometry becomes obscured, it remains grounded in function and mechanical design. The work aims to reveal an active space that surrounds us and enables movement, yet usually remains hidden from view. The palette interprets metallic surfaces transformed by heat, compression, and chemical exchange, resonating between engineered thermal simulations and natural patinas.”
